Nantwich Show celebrates 129th year with competitions and new family attractions
By Ryan Parker 2nd Jun 2026
The Nantwich Show will celebrate its 129th year when the UK's largest one-day agricultural show returns to Reaseheath College on Wednesday 29 July.
Gates open at 8.30am for the action-packed event, featuring livestock competitions, equestrian displays, children's activities, entertainment rings and over 300 trade stands and attractions.
Competition entries are now open across a wide range of classes including cattle, sheep, shires and heavy horses, home produce, floristry, arts and crafts, eggs, pigeons and dogs.
Organisers are also launching a brand new horticulture section for 2026, celebrating the best fruit, vegetables, pot plants and cut flowers from gardens and allotments across the region.
The new section will be officially opened by gardening influencer , Adam Kirtland, who will also give a talk on gardening for mental wellbeing and judge one of the competition classes.

While farming remains at the heart of the show, organisers say this 2026's event is designed to appeal to families and the wider community with attractions for all ages across the showground.
Visitors can enjoy mounted fancy dress classes, vintage tractors, the Grand Parade and a packed programme in the Countryside and Main Rings.
Children's activities are a major focus this year, including the new Farming Discovery Zone where youngsters can meet farmers, take part in interactive activities and learn more about food production in a hands-on way.
The 2026 show will also promote two key themes, mental health and The National Year of Reading.
Six local authors will attend the event alongside organisations offering practical support and advice to communities across Cheshire.
The Nantwich Show first started in 1897 as a small cheese show before growing into the largest one-day agricultural show in the UK.

Formerly held at Dorfold Hall Park, the show moved to Reaseheath College in 2022 and is now firmly established at its new home.
Show Manager, Liz Parkin, told Nub News: "We are really pleased with how the Show has developed at Reaseheath College and look forward to our fifth year there.
"On behalf of our leadership team, I would like to thank all our volunteers, sponsors and traders who work so well together to ensure the Show keeps thriving."
The Nantwich show is self-funded through sponsors and trade stands, with long-term supporters including HJ Lea and Mornflake backing the event for more than 40 years.
Early bird tickets cost £17 for adults aged 16 plus and £7 for children aged five to 15. On-the-gate prices are £20 and £10.
Nub News readers can save £1 per adult ticket using discount code KK26. Membership packages are also available through The Nantwich Show website.
