Plans to build new home with a single detached garage in a Nantwich garden have been withdrawn, months after full consent planning for the development was submitted.

In April, applicant, Mrs C Heler, of 104 Welsh Row, applied for the erection of a new dwelling and brick wall in the garden area of her home.

The new two-storey detached property would have been accessed by a private drive routed to the side of the existing house with new gates, fronting Welsh Row, without affecting adjoining properties.

In April, applicant, Mrs C Heler, of 104 Welsh Row, applied for the erection of a new dwelling and brick wall in the garden area of her home (Cheshire East Planning).

It had been designed in a "dormer cottage" style to provide contemporary accommodation, while at the same time, blending in with its surroundings within the Nantwich Conservation Area.

The application was a re-submission of previous proposal planning reference approved November 2017 and a later application approved in October 2020. The detail remains unchanged.

104 Welsh Row is situated between the curtilages of several grade II listed dwellings, including properties 100, 100A, 102 and 106.

The applicant said the proposal made good use of a "Windfall Site," being in accordance with Cheshire East's policy to encourage new housing within the settlement boundary.

To make way for the development, the demolition of an outhouse containing asbestos was proposed.

Neighbour at 106 Welsh Row, raised concerns, saying: "It has been indicated that the roof structure is asbestos.

The dwelling had been designed in a 'dormer cottage' style to provide contemporary accommodation and blend in with the area (Cheshire East Planning).

"If so, our concern is that this is removed according to asbestos removal regulations to prevent contamination to gardens and properties. "

The applicant believed there would also be ample garden area provided for both 104 Welsh Row and the new dwelling.

Despite this, the full consent planning application to Cheshire East Council was withdrawn on Thursday 11 July.
