South Cheshire church to shine with ‘Storybook Christmas’ Tree Festival

St Mary's Church on Monks Lane in Acton, near Nantwich, is gearing up to welcome visitors to its annual Christmas Tree Festival, running from Friday 5 December to Sunday 7 December.

2025's theme, 'A Storybook Christmas', promises a magical showcase of Christmas trees inspired by favourite tales and characters, each one sponsored and decorated by parishioners, local groups, and businesses.

The Festival opens on:

  • Friday 5 December: from 3pm
  • Saturday 6 December: 10am to 5pm
  • Sunday 7 December: 12pm to 5pm

Alongside the dazzling displays, visitors can enjoy a festive craft stall, a family-friendly quiz, and live musical performances.

Seasonal refreshments, including mulled wine, mince pies, and other treats, will be served throughout the weekend.

Free parking is available at Acton village car park on Chester Road.

A representative from St Mary's Church told Nub News: "Our Christmas Tree Festival is a highlight of the year for our community.

Alongside the dazzling displays, visitors can enjoy a festive craft stall, a family-friendly quiz, and live musical performances (Photo: Jonathan White).

"The 'Storybook Christmas' theme has inspired some truly enchanting designs, and we can't wait to welcome visitors of all ages to enjoy the magic."

Entry is free, with donations warmly appreciated. All funds raised will support the upkeep of the historic Grade I listed church and its community outreach work.
