Plans have been submitted to demolish a supermarket car wash in Nantwich, for a new electric vehicle charging zone development.
On Tuesday 25 June, Motor Fuel Group submitted a planning application to Cheshire East Council on behalf of land at Morrisons Petrol Filling Station, Station Road.
Motor Fuel Group wants to demolish Morrison's existing car wash, proposing an extension to the existing petrol filling station's sales building.
It also wants to construct a new EV charging zone with an EV canopy, five jet wash bays and a substation enclosure, along with associated works.
This proposed extension would be sized at 116 square metres, making the Morrisons site a total of 222 square metres.
In January, Motor Fuel Group and Morrisons announced they had entered into an agreement for the acquisition of 337 Morrisons forecourts.
This included Morrisons' fuel, convenience, retail kiosk and ancillary services across in the UK, in a deal worth £2.5 billion.
As part of the transaction, Morrisons has taken a minority stake of around 20 per cent in MFG, entering its commercial and supply agreements.
The last date for submitting comments on the application is Wednesday 31 July, with a target decision date of Tuesday 20 August.
