A new private GP is set to launch at a Nantwich health hub this July, aiming to take off some of the load from "overwhelmed" local NHS services.

The Nantwich Clinic, Newcastle Road, will launch its new private GP service on Thursday 4 July.

Operated by husband and wife, Tom and Gill Fox, The Nantwich Clinic is transforming the health and wellbeing of people in South Cheshire.

Experienced GP, Dave Roberts, who previously worked at Hungerford Road Medical Centre in Crewe, will run the private GP at The Nantwich Clinic (Nub News).

Gill told Nub News: "The Nantwich Clinic is delighted to launch a new private GP service, where you can phone up or make an appointment, in advance, online.

"We can see so many people struggling to get what they needed from local GP services and have seen how overworked and overwhelmed the NHS is. We aim to take off some of their load.

"Dave Roberts has joined us as our GP. He has a wealth of experience after previously working, as a Partner,  for Hungerford Road Medical Centre.

"The aim of this service is to provide people with a choice whilst freeing space within the NHS GP service."

The Nantwich Clinic's private GP service will be based on the ground floor. The premises also provides disabled access. 

With its new private GP service being in the pipeline since 2022, the health hub has been "eagerly" waiting for permission from the CQC.

Gill said: "It has been a very long haul to get permission from the CQC as everything has been ready to launch for some time.

"Recently, the CQC recently came to visit us and said our setup was superb. We are now all good to go.

"The private GP will operate from 10:30am until 2:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays to begin with.

The Nantwich Clinic's private GP service will be based on the ground floor. The premises also provides disabled access (Ryan Parker).

"This is a limited service to start with, but we are hoping it grows fairly quickly with the view to getting more GPs.

"In 2021, we moved to this bigger premises in Nantwich to help more people achieve happy, health lives. 

"Our new private GP service will give us another boost to achieve this. We have a room decked out for Dave as well as all the specific equipment for him to use.

"We are looking forward to working with Dave and getting this project off the ground to support local people with their health."

The Nantwich Clinic is open 8:30am to 7pm (Monday to Friday) and 9am to 12:30pm (Saturday). 

The Nantwich Clinic's private GP will operate from 10:30am until 2:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays to begin with (Ryan Parker).
