A new independent vets is set to open in Nantwich following an investment costing almost £1 million, with work continuing at the former Travis Perkins site.
Phoenix Vet Practice, 7 Barony Road, will be run by Northern Irish veterinarian and former TV wildlife personality, Steve Leonard, along with his experienced wife Cathy, and business partners, Sarah Martin and Keelin Hopkins.
Targeted to open in May 2026, Phoenix Vet Practice will launch in Nantwich following a £900k development.
The new Nantwich practice, which borders Arnold Street, aims to stand out from the larger companies buying out other vets.

Phoenix Vets say: "At Phoenix Vets, we're a team of experienced vets, Steve and Cathy Leonard, Sarah Martin and Keelin Hopkins, who believe independence means better care.
"We've built Phoenix to be a practice where decisions are made for the right reasons, time is taken when it's needed, and every pet is treated like family.
"We will be providing out-of-hours care for our patients so we are there when they need us the most.
"We can't wait to meet you and your pets at Phoenix Vets. Click to pre-register and join the Phoenix family today."
Phoenix Vet Practice has over 350 people already registered as clients before it has opened, with demand growing.
Signs have now gone up around the Nantwich North and West site, with multiple local contractors continuing works.
