Nantwich charity working to bring unloved dog 1,700 miles for adoption in UK

Nantwich dog rescue charity, Pawprints to Freedom, is working to bring a Romanian rescue dog over to the UK, with a Greater Manchester woman set to adopt.
Dog treats, chew toys and blankets have been piling up at Specscart's Bury HQ as word spread about staff member Emma Shedwick's plan to adopt a neglected and abandoned pooch from 1,700 miles away.
Specscart customers have been dropping off canine goodies in the Greater Manchester shop, and Emma's colleagues have been filling up a donations box for the Mickey Hall Lane dog rescue charity, where the Specscart-sponsored pet will come from.
Customer service and operations assistant, Emma, told Nub News: "Everyone has been so generous and supportive of the amazing charity that rescues unwanted and unloved dogs from Romania and rehomes them with new owners here in the UK.

"We started with a shoebox for donations but now we have an overflowing cardboard box full of gifts and donations from Specscart customers who have got wind of what we're doing and the rest of the team that I work with every day.
"I have been so touched by everyone's generosity."
Emma's new dog is currently en route from Curtea de Arges, Romania, along with other rescue dogs that will eventually go to loving homes across Britain once they leave the charity's sister kennel in Cheshire.
Each rescued canine is vaccinated, acclimatized and nurtured back to health before being matched with a new owner.
Pawprints to Freedom trustee, Charlotte Perrin, said: "We are a small but passionately-run charity so support from a company like Specscart means the world to us.
"Any unloved dog we rescue from the streets of Romania costs us between £400 and £2,000 to rehome in the UK.

"Donations of essential supplies, like those from Specscart customers and staff, mean we can spend our limited finances on rescuing more dogs instead."
Emma is still collecting charity donations from staff and customers throughout March.
Animal lovers can also support Pawprints to Freedom by buying everyday items like dog waste bags and disinfectant from the charity's Amazon shopping list.
