Man charged with drink driving following Nantwich town centre incident

A man from Shropshire has been charged with drink driving, after being stopped by Cheshire Police in Nantwich town centre.
At 10.09pm on Friday 30 August, officers received a report of an "impaired" driver on Middlewich Road, Crewe.
Soon after, police located the vehicle in Nantwich, pulling it over on Beam Street.
The driver failed a roadside breath test and was arrested at the scene.
David Fairclough, 52, of Shropshire, has been charged with drink driving.
He has since been bailed to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Monday 23 September.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At 10.09pm on Friday 30 August, police received a report of an impaired driver on Middlewich Road in Leighton.
"Police stopped the car on Beam Street in Nantwich and the driver was arrested after refusing a roadside breath test.
"David Fairclough, 52, of Shropshire, has since been charged with drink driving.
"He has been bailed to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Monday 23 September."
