The Audlem Lass boat service is continuing another busy season on the Shropshire Union Canal, providing enjoyable trips for visitors while raising valuable funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

Operated entirely by volunteers, the Audlem Lass has become a popular attraction in the village, carrying thousands of passengers each year between Lock 15, near The Shroppie Fly pub, and Overwater Marina, home to the Café at Bridge 80.

The service runs every Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday from Easter through to October, operating between 10am and 5pm.

Passengers can board at Lock 15 at quarter past and quarter to each hour, while departures from Overwater Marina leave on the hour and half past, making it an ideal way to enjoy a leisurely trip along one of Cheshire's most picturesque stretches of canal.

The service operates on a donation basis, with suggested cash contributions of £2 per adult and £1 a child (each way).

Dogs and pushchairs travel free, with every donation going directly to support the RNLI's lifesaving work around the UK's coastline.

Since setting sail on its maiden voyage at Easter 2010, the Audlem Lass has carried more than 40,000 passengers and raised in excess of £25,000 for the RNLI, helping to fund the charity's mission of saving lives at sea.

The volunteer crew continues to welcome both local residents and visitors throughout the season, offering a relaxing canal experience while supporting a worthy cause.

Also on the water, the Overwater Wheelyboat Services charity offers wheelchair-accessible trips along the canal for children and adults.

These specially designed outings run from April to September and are available by pre-booking. To find out more, contact Overwater Marina at 01270 812677, email [email protected].
