Free monthly 'Dabbers Dash' brings Nantwich community together
By Jonathan White 21st Sep 2026
Runners, walkers, wheelers and families came together at Barony Park in Nantwich on the morning of Saturday 19 September for another successful Dabbers Dash.
The free monthly event attracted a strong turnout, with people of all ages and abilities enjoying an active start to the weekend in the Nantwich community.
Participants could complete up to three-and-a-half laps of Barony Park, approximately 5km, or simply choose a shorter walk, jog or wheel around the scenic green space.
Pride flags were displayed at the start and finish areas, reflecting Dabbers Dash's ongoing commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
There was no official timing, with the emphasis firmly on participation rather than competition. This created a friendly and welcoming atmosphere where everyone could take part at their own pace.
September's event also helped raise awareness of Continence Awareness in partnership with Mid Cheshire Hospitals' Community Specialist Adult Bladder and Bowel Service.

Participants were encouraged to wear something blue, while members of the NHS team were on hand to provide information and answer general questions about bladder and bowel difficulties.
The team highlighted that bladder and bowel problems were common and could affect people of different ages, but were often not discussed because of embarrassment or stigma.
Information was available about managing these difficulties, local services and how people could access support, with participants encouraged to take information away for themselves or discreetly pass on to a friend or family member.
Dabbers Dash founder, Paul McIntyre, said: "It was fantastic to see another great turnout at Dabbers Dash and to welcome people of all ages and abilities to Barony Park.
"We were particularly pleased to support Continence Awareness this month and help raise awareness of an issue that can affect so many people but is still not talked about enough.
"Dabbers Dash is all about community, inclusion and getting people active without any pressure. Whether you ran, walked, wheeled one lap or completed the full 5K, everyone was part of the event and made it such a positive morning."
Families and friends were encouraged to take part together and stay afterwards for a chat, adding to the friendly, community-led atmosphere for which Dabbers Dash has become known.
The event remained free and open to runners, walkers and wheelers of all ages and abilities, with participants able to choose their own distance with no stopwatch and no pressure.
Public toilets were available nearby at Barony Leisure Centre and Sainsbury's.
Dabbers Dash was launched in 2022 as a virtual alternative to Parkrun and has since grown into a popular monthly fixture in Nantwich.
The event encourages people to lead active lifestyles while also campaigning for improved pathways around Barony Park.
The next Dabbers Dash takes place on Saturday 10 October, at 9am and will be a Ribbon Run supporting Baby Loss Awareness 2026.
Updates and information about future events are available through the Dabbers Dash Facebook group.
