Fire crews tackle van blaze on main road in Nantwich

Fire crews were called to tackle a blaze at a back of a van on a bury road in Nantwich, believed to have been started accidentally.

On Wednesday 22 May, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of an incident on Middlewich Road, close to Sainsbury's Roundabout.

At 2:22pm, one fire engine from Crewe arrived at the scene.

Firefighters put out the flames using a hose reel jet.

The van sustained minor damage in the incident, with no injuries reported (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished a fire in the back of a van using a hose reel jet.

"A thermal imaging camera was used to monitor the vehicle."
