Fire crews respond to Nantwich outbuilding blaze caused by tumble dryer

Fire crews responded to an outbuilding blaze in Nantwich on Tuesday evening (14 September), caused by a tumble dryer.

At 10.15pm, two fire engines from Crewe and Nantwich and the rapid response rescue unit from Nantwich responded to an incident on Eastern Road, Willaston.

Crewe and Nantwich firefighters used a hose reel jet to put out the flames.

No injuries were reported, with the occupant of the dwelling receiving precautionary checks.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled a fire involving a brick outbuilding using a hose reel jet.

"All contents were removed and dampened down.

"No injuries were reported, but the occupant did receive precautionary checks from a first responder.

"The cause is believed to have been a tumble dryer."
