Nantwich travel business wins top North West award

A travel business which opened its third shop in Nantwich earlier this year has been named the North West's Travel Agent of the Year.
Global Travel & Cruise picked up three awards at the Travel Gossip North West Awards.
The family-run business won 'Travel Agent of the Year' and 'Touring & Adventure Agent of the Year', while also being 'Highly Commended for Excellence in Customer Service.'
The overall Travel Agent of the Year award is selected by judges from all the category winners.
The company, which has been operating for 26 years, opened its Nantwich shop on High Street in March.
It was the third location for the independent travel agency, which already has shops in West Kirby and Neston.

The business specialises in tailor-made and luxury holidays, long-haul travel, touring, adventure and experiential trips.
Following the awards, Global Travel and Cruise said: "We are absolutely thrilled and incredibly proud to have been recognised with three awards.
"And Travel Agent of the Year is the ultimate accolade, selected by the judges from all category winners.
"To be named the winner of the winners is an incredible achievement for our business and our entire team."
The Nantwich business said the awards were recognition for its teams across all three branches, as well as its customers.
It added: "We are also incredibly grateful to our wonderful clients. You have trusted us with your holidays for 26 years, and we never take that trust for granted."
Global Travel & Cruise was founded in 2000 by Sarah Meadowcroft and her mother Isobel, starting out as a home-based travel business before opening its first shop in West Kirby.
The company expanded into Nantwich this year after identifying the town as a location which suited its independent, personal approach to travel.
The Nantwich branch offers customers help with everything from family holidays and honeymoons to tailor-made tours and luxury getaways.
It says customers deal directly with experienced travel professionals rather than using a call centre or booking entirely online.
Sarah previously told Nub News the company wanted its Nantwich shop to become part of the town's business community.
The 41 High Street store is open 9.30am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday, offering luxury and adventure holidays from high-end hotels to tailor-made expeditions.
