Hundreds of people gathered for Audlem's annual Party on the Park, enjoying an evening of live music, picnics and community spirit.

The popular event, organised by Audlem Special Events Team (ASET), took place on Saturday 27 June on the village playing field, off Cheshire Street, once again attracting families and music lovers from across the area.

Blue Sky Radio presenter, Scott James, kept the crowd entertained as compere, with local four-piece band Hipster. opening the evening.

Headlining the event were Roy G Hemmings and The Dictionary of Soul, who returned to Audlem by popular demand.

Fronted by Roy G Hemmings, the longest-serving member of The Drifters, the band delivered an energetic celebration of Soul and Motown.

The colourful atmosphere extended beyond the stage, with many visitors embracing the party theme by wearing bright shirts, sparkling hats and novelty outfits.

One attendee even arrived in a multi-coloured illuminated suit, attracting plenty of attention.

Food and drink vendors kept visitors refreshed throughout the evening as hundreds of people of all ages relaxed with picnics and danced into the night.

The event was supported for the fifteenth consecutive year by main sponsor EPG Security Systems Ltd; alongside PET Hire of Crewe, Blue Sky Radio and a number of programme sponsors.

Williams of Audlem (ticket office), Audlem Tennis Club (electricity), Audlem Parish Council (Turnpike Field event parking), Yvonne Parker (storage), Audlem Cricket Club (storage), Audlem Online, Audlem Music & Arts Festival Committee, Cheshire East Council, and Audlem Printers are also thanked for their support.

This event was organised by ASET, a small team of local volunteers who also organise the annual Audlem Festival of Transport.

Looking ahead, ASET's next major event will be the Audlem Festival of Transport on Sunday 26 July, from 11am, with the Gathering of Historic Boats at Audlem Wharf the same weekend.
