Crewe and Nantwich Workers Party candidate for the 2024 General Election, Phil Lane, says he will fight for the local area above everything else if elected.

The owner of The Dog's Dinner pet care store on Ruskin Road, who has lived in Crewe for the past two years, believes the workers of Crewe and Nantwich need a voice.

Mr Lane told Nub News: "I moved to Crewe in 2022 with a view to opening a dog food shop.

Phil Lane has lived in Crewe for the past two years and runs The Dog's Dinner pet care store on Ruskin Road (Phil Lane).

"We spent a weekend here and thanks to mainly Tom's Tap and Ebenezer's we were welcomed with open arms and realised Crewe was the place for us.

"We opened The Dog's Dinner on Ruskin Road and fell in love with the town but the people are being let down.

"The incumbent Conservative MP Kieran Mullan seemed to trot out the party line to score points, meanwhile the town council has presided over neglect of the town centre, an out of town retail park that sucks customers away and a car park yet to open.

"Meanwhile in Palestine a genocide is taking place which all our political parties are turning a blind eye to - Keir Starmer even said turning off water and electricity is 'legitimate defence.'

"Listening to George Galloway and the Workers Party of Britain I realised they spoke for me and those with left-leaning views.

"The Labour Party and Conservative Party are now the same, neither of them now represent workers - over 70 per cent of Crewe and the people need a voice."

Phil has promised the concerns of Crewe and Nantwich residents will come first above the nation, the Workers Party and himself, if voted in.

Mr Lane said: "The final straw was hearing customers and friends saying 'politicians are all the same,' they don't need to be.

"So I am standing as a representative of the Workers Party, I am funding myself and hope everyone who feels they are all the same will realise 'they' don't need to be.

"I promise if elected, I will represent the people of Crewe first, the nation second, the party third and myself last.

"I am available to talk to at The Dog's Dinner, 2 Ruskin Road and would welcome anyone to pop in and chat I'm not funded by trade unions or big business. It is just me and I want to make Crewe better."
