Crewe and Nantwich Reform UK candidate for the 2024 General Election, Matt Wood, says only a vote for his party will bring "real political change."
The retired former RAF pilot, who lives in South Cheshire, stood for the constituency as The Brexit Party candidate in 2019 and takes part in the weekly Crewe Parkrun at Queens Park.
Mr Wood told Nub News: "I am the Reform UK prospective parliamentary candidate for our constituency and know only Reform will deliver real political change.
"I know from bitter experience that the 'change' promised by Labour and the Conservatives will equal Crewe and Nantwich being short changed in a few weeks from now.
"Reform UK wants to control migration, bringing overall net migration to zero. We want to take back control of our borders. This is not because we are racist, but because we appreciate the pressure this puts on housing for young people.
"We want to cut NHS waiting lists to zero, raise the minimum income tax threshold to £20,000, reduce the main corporation tax rate by five per cent and ensure there is cleaner air for the environment.
"Reform UK would increase the annual farming budget to £3 billion and abandon all existing carbon emissions targets. Net zero is the wrong bit, at the wrong time, in the wrong time frame.
"We would also scrap interest on student loans and overhaul the military procurement process, investing to properly equip and house our armed forced personnel.
"Please support me by using your vote on Thursday 4 July, place your X for Reform UK."
Mr Wood grew up in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, and spent 16 years in the RAF, retiring in 1995. From there he worked in commercial aviation for 25 years.
Now, the Crewe and Nantwich candidate is a member of the Royal British Legion.
On Tuesday 3 June, it was announced Nigel Farage would immediately take over as party leader of Reform UK and stand as a parliamentary candidate for Clacton.
Mr Wood said: "Nigel's announcement came out of the blue. Yes, Reform supporters had hoped he might stand for parliament once more but, to get him back as leader was a wonderful surprise.
"At this point I would like to thank Richard Tice for so gracefully stepping aside. It was a wonderful example of servant leadership.
"From the top down Reform UK leaders and their candidates are here to serve their community and country. Duty, not self promotion, greed and vanity.
"Nigel has reinvigorated our campaign. I am buzzing, as are our many supporters in Crewe and Nantwich."
