Famous actor and now author, Ben Miller, will return to his hometown this November, switching on the Nantwich Christmas Lights.

The free event, organised by Nantwich Town Council, takes place on Friday 21 November from 5pm in the Town Square, featuring live music, a festive market, and seasonal entertainment.

Miller, who grew up on Gingerbread Lane and attended Malbank School and Sixth Form College, rose to fame as one half of the comedy duo Armstrong and Miller.

The 59-year-old is best known for his roles in Death in Paradise, Professor T, Primeval, and the Johnny English films.

Miller will join the Mayor of Nantwich and Father Christmas on stage for the official switch-on, which will mark the start of the town's festive season.

The evening will be hosted by Chris Radford and will include a performance by Lauren G, performing a Sabrina Carpenter tribute.

There will also be a JDL Mini Market along Churchyardside with handmade gifts, festive food, and artisan crafts, while Nantwich's Traditional Market stays open late for seasonal shopping.

Miller will also be celebrating the release of his new picture book, The Night I Met Father Christmas, illustrated by Elisa Paganelli.
