Applestump Records on Oatmarket, Nantwich, has announced it will be bringing the iconic Gary 'Mani' Mounfield to the town in October next year.

Mani will be lifting the lid on his life as bassist in seminal bands The Stone Roses and Primal Scream, plus plenty more.

The Stone Roses remain one of the most iconic bands of the past 35 years. Paving the way for Oasis, The Verve, and the whole Madchester movement, their self-titled debut album is still hailed as one of the greatest of all time.

Their legendary 1990 Spike Island gig drew 27,000 fans and became known as 'Madchester's Woodstock', even inspiring a movie.

Bassist Mani, Gary Mounfield, was there for every show and also played with Primal Scream from 1997 to 2012, before rejoining the 'Roses for their stadium-sized comeback.

In this special, intimate show, Mani will look back on the band who redefined the British music scene.

Expect memories of Fools Gold, Wembley Stadium, Ally Pally, court cases, bucket hats, Adidas, Screamadelica, and the Second Coming.

Mani said: "This is the perfect time in my life to look back and reflect on the highs and lows, and the mad times of my career. I can't wait to see you all and share the best of times."

Steve Cook from Applestump Records said: "We are incredibly proud to be pulling another legend of the music world to our wonderful town.

"Mani and the bands he has played in have been the soundtrack to my life and so many others. It promises to be a fantastic night."
