A 'first of its kind' Running Festival is taking place at Aqueduct Marina, Church Minshull on Saturday 5 July.

The Festival is being organised by Crewe-based running nutrition brand, Protein Rebel, and supported by local running podcast Couch to Coached.

Expect a 10km run across fields, trails and woodland, a community fun run and inspirational speakers including Guinness World Record holders and runners who have conquered the UK's toughest runs.

There will be mini athletics sporting activities for children, a massage tent and an on-site cafe. Tickets are available HERE.

Sunday - Afternoon At The Overture @ Nantwich Methodist Church

Join the South Cheshire Orchestra for an uplifting afternoon of live music, featuring stirring overtures, charming English melodies, and a rousing finale in honour of a historic occasion on Sunday 6 July.

Starting at 3pm, the programme opens with the delightful Arcadians Overture by Lionel Monckton and the warm, nostalgic Miniature Suite by Eric Coates, two gems of British light music.

The concert turns to the world of myth and theatre with Beethoven’s dynamic Overture to The Creatures of Prometheus, the dramatic Pique Dame Overture, and Friedrich von Flotow’s tuneful Martha Overture.

The concert is rounded off with two powerful statements: Haydn’s jubilant ‘London’ Symphony and Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1, performed as a tribute to the 80th anniversary of VE Day, a moment to reflect, remember, and celebrate the enduring spirit of that generation.

Whether you are a classical music enthusiast or simply looking for an inspiring afternoon out, this concert offers something for everyone.
