Disruption as major road closes between Nantwich and Crewe

Motorists face disruption on a major road between Nantwich and Crewe until the end of the week, allowing carriageway surface dressing works to take place.
The A530 Middlewich Road, between Sainsbury's Roundabout and Marshfield Bank Roundabout is closed between 9am and 4pm on Thursday 3 July.
It will then also be closed for sweeping works, between 8pm and 6am from Friday 4 July to Sunday 6 July.
Middlewich Road is the latest in a series of major roads across the borough undergoing surface dressing this summer, with work carried out by Cheshire East Highways.

Earlier this year, Cheshire East Highways said: "From May until August, we will be undertaking our surface dressing programme across the borough.
"Surface dressing adds a new layer on top of an existing road surface and is a well-established, cost-effective preventative maintenance treatment.
"We visit the road a few times, to prepare the road, carry out the surface dressing and we return to sweep up the excess chippings and reinstate the road markings.
"We cannot give you an exact date as these works can't be undertaken in high temperature or during rain however, signs will be displayed nearby to notify you of the road closures and will provide dates and times of the work and it's duration."
If you have any enquiries relating to the works, please contact Cheshire East Highways on 0300 123 5020.
