One fire engine from Audlem arrived at the scene, discovering a vehicle "well-alight."
Audlem firefighters put out the flames with a hose reel jet.
No injuries were reported in the blaze, with the car sustaining serious damage.
Cheshire Police confirmed to Nub News there was no suspicious nature behind the car fire.
Officers attended the scene for traffic management, with Windmill lane cleared and reopened by 10.15am.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish a car that was well alight in Audlem.
"The vehicle was made safe before the incident was handed over to police at the scene."
