St Mary's Church on Monks Lane in Acton, near Nantwich, is inviting the community to enjoy two special festive editions of its much-loved weekly café, 'Tea at the Tower,' on Sunday 14 December and Sunday 21 December.

The café runs every Sunday throughout the year, from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, offering visitors hot drinks, homemade cakes and friendly conversation in the beautiful surroundings of the Grade I-listed church.

The first Christmas-themed session, on 14 December, will feature live music from The Swinging Woodpeckers, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Free parking for visitors is available at Acton village car park on Chester Road (Photo: Jonathan White).

Both dates will include mince pies alongside the usual cakes and refreshments, all served by the dedicated team of volunteers.

Donations received during the sessions help support the maintenance of the historic church.

With plenty of indoor seating, the building is perfectly suited to hosting the busy café, which welcomes between 40 and 50 visitors most weeks, often rising to more than 70.

The community café began in March 2017 when a group of volunteers launched the project with little more than enthusiasm, a few teapots and a simple vision to create a compassionate, welcoming space for all.

Since then, the team has grown, vintage china has been collected, and the café has earned a Place of Welcome Award from the Diocese of Chester.

A representative from St Mary's told Nub News:"Our Christmas sessions are always a highlight, a chance for people to come together, relax, and enjoy the warmth of our wonderful community.

"Everyone is welcome, and we hope these festive gatherings bring a little extra joy to December."

Free parking for visitors is available at Acton village car park on Chester Road.
