Five people were arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving in Nantwich last week (December 1 to 7), as part of the local policing team's ongoing enforcement efforts.

In total, officers made 13 arrests across the area, with 114 incidents reported and 54 crimes recorded.

The highest crime levels were in Nantwich North and West (22) and Nantwich South and Stapeley (20).

Nantwich Police stressed their focus on visibility and prevention as well as enforcement, saying: "Policing isn't just about responding to incidents, engagement and prevention remain a key focus."

Officers attended the December Pubwatch meeting, reinforcing messages around spiking and drug safety and launching knife-detection wands for late-night venues.

Seven individuals were banned under Pubwatch rules.

Neighbourhood teams also met parish representatives at the Wrenbury Cluster meeting and delivered online-safety sessions in Audlem.

They also held a Christmas-themed 'Cops on the Square' engagement event in Nantwich town centre, before rounding off the week at the RSPCA Christmas Fair in Stapeley.
