What was Nantwich like in the 1800s? Take a look back at the town back in 1883 with this rare photo montage celebrating the ancient market town.
This slideshow video, made by Local History Videos. was taken from a book called 'A history of the town and parish of Nantwich, or Wich-Malbank, in the county palatine of Chester..'
It features illustrations of famous Nantwich buildings and landmarks such as High Street, Churche's Mansion, The Crown Inn, Nantwich Grammar School and Sweetbriar Hall.
Images of St Mary's Church, Welsh Row and the Archway to Wright's Almhouses are also shown.
Nantwich, which evolved as a settlement from Roman salt workings, now has a population of over 19,000.
