A popular Nantwich town centre pub has closed for a major refurbishment, celebrating the venue's 10-year anniversary under its current manager and owner.

The Wickstead Arms, Mill Street, closed to customers after its trading hours on Sunday 23 February.

Operated by Emma Griffiths, manager of the venue since February 2015 and licensee since 2016, the Nantwich resident has just signed her third tenancy agreement with Punch Pubs.

Closed for some "much-needed" renovations, The Wickstead Arms plans to reopen from 11.30am on Saturday 8 March.

The Wickstead Arms said: "As we celebrate 10 fantastic years, we plan on giving The Wick some much needed TLC.

"We will be closing for 10 days from Monday 24 February and reopening on Saturday 8 March at 11.30am.

"As I sign my third agreement with Punch Pubs, it got me thinking of all the amazing times.

"I really couldn't have done it without you and most of all our incredible team. Same old Wicky, just better."

Emma, who first worked behind the bar at The Wickstead Arms, became one of the youngest licensees when she took on the venue at the age of 21.
