Plans to make 24-hour petrol station in Nantwich

Plans have been put forward to Cheshire East Council to make a former Nantwich supermarket petrol station open 24/7.
Applicant, Motor Fuel Group (MFG), has applied for a Lawful Development Certificate, to make the former Morrisons Petrol Station, Station Road, open all the time.
In January 2024, Motor Fuel Group and Morrisons announced they had entered into an agreement for the acquisition of 337 Morrisons forecourts, including Nantwich.

This included Morrisons' fuel, convenience, retail kiosk and ancillary services across in the UK, in a deal worth £2.5 billion.
As part of the transaction, Morrisons has taken a minority stake of around 20 per cent in MFG, entering its commercial and supply agreements.
Last July, MFG submitted planning to demolish Morrison's existing car wash, proposing an extension to the existing petrol filling station's sales building.
As part of the plans, MFG wanted to construct a new EV charging zone with an EV canopy, five jet wash bays and a substation enclosure, along with associated works.

The Nantwich petrol station is currently open from 6am to 11pm, seven days a week.
The last day for submitting comments on MFG's latest application is Thursday 22 May, with a large decision date of Friday 20 June.
