Plans have been submitted to convert a disused hard-surfaced sports court in Nantwich into a new padel courts development.

This January, Everybody Health & Leisure submitted proposals on behalf of Barony Park Sports Complex, Barony Road.

Everybody wants to construct four new padel courts at the disused site, along with associated boundary treatments and pedestrian access arrangements.

The Barony Sports Complex is operated by the fitness charity on behalf of Cheshire East Council.

Everybody wants convert a disused hard-surfaced sports court at Barony Sports Complex into a new padel courts development (CEC Planning).

It is intended padel court users will be able to book a session online using the Playtomic phone application.

This allows users to book group games or for individuals to find other participants to play against.

A supporting planning statement reads: "In brief, the proposals comprise of the conversion of an existing fenced hardstanding sports court area to create four new padel courts with associated boundary treatments and pedestrian access arrangements.

"The development can be fully accommodated on previously developed land and no landscaping or other potential valuable ecological features are affected by the proposals.

"The proposed padel court playing area (per court) is 20 metres by 10 metres wide and is marked with two service lines and a centre line with a 10-metre long net rising to a maximum of 0.2 metres in height, fixed by posts at either end.

"The new courts at the Barony Sports Complex accord with the requirements for a surrounding enclosure and rebound walls."

The last date for submitting comments on this application is Thursday 27 February with a take decision date of Monday 17 March.
