A person trapped in a Nissan car has been rescued and taken to Royal Stoke Hospital, following a serious collision with a lorry in Nantwich.

On Monday 17 June, emergency services received reports of an incident on the A530 Shrewbridge Road, Baddington.

At 7:45am, two fire engines from Crewe and Winsford, plus a major rescue unit from Winsford, were supported by Cheshire Police.

After arriving at the scene, emergency services discovered a collision between a lorry and a Nissan Note.

One person is trapped in the Nissan, they are currently being released by firefighters. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At around 7.45am on Monday 17 June, police were called to reports of a collision on the A530, Shrewbridge Road, Baddington.

"Officers attended the scene and found that there had been a collision between a lorry and a Nissan Note.

The A530 Shrewbridge Road remains closed in both directions (Cheshire Police).

"One person was trapped in the Nissan, they were released by firefighters and taken to the Royal Stoke Hospital.

"The A530 is currently closed in both directions while emergency services deal with the incident."
