Councillor Kim Jamson was sworn in as Mayor of Nantwich at the Annual Town Council meeting on Thursday 14 May, with Councillor Geoff Smith appointed as her consort.

Taking the Chair she told Nub News: "It is a real honour and privilege to serve the community.

"Nantwich is a town with a strong sense of identity, warmth and community, and I'm incredibly proud to represent it over the coming year."

Moving on to thank family, friends, and fellow councillors, she added: "I am dedicating my time to recognising and celebrating the incredible volunteers who give so much to the town and I look forward to the year ahead."

During her year in office, the Mayor named three local organisations: Jabbin Dabber Boxing Club, the Cheshire Young Carers organisation, and RSPCA Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre as her good causes.
