Nantwich Town FC is introducing a new parking management system at one of its car parks, making it easier for visitors to pay.

The new arrangements will come into effect in early November, at the overflow parking land adjacent to Waterlode and Reaseheath Way.

The club is introducing a system operated by ParkingEye, replacing the existing payment arrangements which required motorists to visit the football club to pay.

Under the new system, parking will cost £1 for up to one hour or £2 for the entire day.

Payments will be made by card or app, with cash no longer accepted.

Nantwich Town FC says it has charged motorists to use the parking area for several years, with the £2 all-day fee already advertised on site.

However, the club says the new system will make paying more convenient and help ensure the facilities are managed fairly.

Importantly, the changes will only affect the separate overflow parking land next to Waterlode and Reaseheath Way.

The main stadium car park, immediately next to the football stand, will remain free of charge for community football participants and visitors to Nantwich Town FC and The Tea Lounge.

In a community announcement, the club said the income generated through the parking arrangements would help support its facilities and long-term future.

It said the money would contribute towards ongoing maintenance and future investment, including its planned replacement rear 3G pitch project.

Nantwich Town FC said: "As a community football club, we continually work to maintain and improve our facilities while safeguarding the club's long-term future.

"Income generated through these parking arrangements will make a valuable contribution towards ongoing maintenance and future investment, including our important replacement rear 3G pitch project."
