Nantwich shoplifter charged after being spotted by 'eagle-eyed' police officer

A local man wanted for two shoplifting offences at Sainsbury's Nantwich has been charged, after being spotted by an "eagle-eyed" police officer in Crewe.
Over the weekend, a Cheshire Police duty inspector spotted the wanted man on Weston Road in Crewe.
A response unit swiftly made it to the Crewe Industrial Estate area, locating the man who fled on foot.
Following a short foot chase the man from Crewe was detained and arrested at the scene.

After being transported to police custody. he has since been charged with the listed offences.
A Nantwich Police spokesperson said: "A good spot from eagle eyed off duty inspector leads to arrest of wanted male.
"A Crewe male, wanted for two offences of shoplifting at Sainsburys, Nantwich. was spotted by the officer off Weston Road, Crewe.
"A response unit made to the area, and after a short foot chase arrested the male.

"He was then transported to Middlewich custody, interviewed and charged with both offences."
