A talented Nantwich pupil has seen their artwork brought to life at Maylands Park, after winning a competition to design the development's new pond and wildlife sign.
The competition, run by David Wilson Homes in partnership with Pear Tree Primary School, invited children to create a colourful, eye‑catching design that would help visitors enjoy the pond area safely while celebrating the nature that surrounds it.
The winning design, created by 11-year-old Eden, was chosen for its creativity and vibrant celebration of the local wildlife. The artwork has now been professionally produced and installed beside the pond at Maylands Park, where it will be seen by residents and visitors for years to come.
Leanie O'Connor, a teacher at Pear Tree Primary School, joined the Maylands Park team for a special unveiling, where young designer Eden was presented with a prize to mark his achievement.
Mrs O'Connor said: "Our pupils absolutely loved taking part in this competition, and it's been so exciting for them to see one of their classmates' designs turned into a real sign at Maylands Park.

"Opportunities like this show children that their ideas matter and can make a positive difference in their local area."
The new sign forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance the natural spaces at Maylands Park, encouraging families to explore the outdoors and enjoy the development's green areas responsibly.
Sales director at David Wilson Homes, Jennifer Burns, said: "Creativity like this is exactly what brings Maylands Park to life.
"We were blown away by the standard of entries from Pear Tree Primary School, but Eden's design really stood out for its celebration of the wildlife around the pond.
"It's wonderful to see the sign now installed for everyone to enjoy. We're proud to work with local schools on projects that help young people leave their mark on the community."
