Nantwich has been named the fourth happiest place to live in the UK, in a new nationwide study by Furniturebox.
The research surveyed 5,000 people across the country to find out where residents feel the strongest sense of joy, belonging and home.
Nantwich stood out for its "beautiful surroundings, welcoming community, and thriving town centre," from its independent shops and cafes to its green spaces and historic charm.
Furniturebox's study looked at several key factors that contribute to happiness, including access to nature, good schools, affordable housing, and local amenities like pubs, restaurants and cultural attractions.
Nantwich was the only Cheshire location to make Furniturebox's top 75 happiest places list, with Much Wenlock in Shropshire ranking 21st.

The happiest places in the UK for 2025 was Norwich, Norfolk, for its "beautiful blend of history, culture, and the calm of nearby countryside and coastline."
In second and third place were Skipton, Yorkshire and Malvern, Worcestershire, both praised for their tranquility and nature spots.
Most of the locations in the top 75 list are not the most affluent in their localities and have access to some affordable housing, including Norwich which has the highest proportion of council housing of any UK city.
The survey shows the happiest places are not defined by wealth but by the quality of life within them.
