Nantwich primary school receives 'Outstanding' Ofsted report

A Nantwich primary school has received an 'Outstanding' or 'Good' rating across all categories, with the headteacher left delighted.
Stapeley Broad Lane Primary School, Nantwich, part of the Cornovii Trust, was visited by inspectors from the education watchdog at the start of the year.
During the two-day visit, inspectors observed lessons and spoke with leaders, staff, pupils and parents.
Ofsted praised the 'exemplary' behaviour of pupils, a 'broad and ambitious' curriculum and 'exceptional' efforts in supporting pupil personal development.

While one-word 'overall effectiveness' Ofsted report judgements are no longer in use, a rating was still provided for Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management, and Early Years.
The one-form school was deemed to be 'Outstanding' or 'Good' across all categories.
Headteacher at Stapeley Broad Lane, Jennifer Holden, told Nub News: "We are a close-knit school community.
"With the full support of our pupils, staff, families, and governors, we strive to create an inclusive and aspirational environment that fosters a genuine love of learning in our children.
"It was wonderful to read all the positive comments about our amazing pupils, and I hope they, along with our incredibly hard-working staff, are as proud of themselves as I am."
The Ofsted report highlighted many aspects for the school to be proud of, including 'pupils are very proud to attend this school' and they know the importance of being 'ready, respectful, kind and safe'.'
Stapeley Broad Lane Primary School calls this the 'Stapeley Way,' guiding the exceptional manner in which pupils conduct themselves in all they do.
Ofsted said pupils' behaviour is 'exemplary,' pointing out they are 'highly attentive' when listening to their teachers and try their best and take 'great pride' in their work.
The report also praised the school's enrichment and extra-curricular programmes, highlighting the number of clubs, visits and residentials available to children.
These, along with a 'solid curriculum for personal, social, health and economic education' meant 'the school's work on pupils' personal development is 'exceptional'.
The Nantwich school's approach to reading and phonics was also singled out as an area of strength, 'supported by well-trained staff' leading to 'competent readers who enjoy discussing a diverse range of books and authors' by the end of Key Stage Two.
Strong support from governors was also highlighted as foundational to the school's ongoing success.
CEO of the Cornovii Trust, Richard Middlebrook, said: "The Stapeley community continues to go from strength-to-strength.
"This report rightly demonstrates the impact of the tireless dedication of our fantastic staff, to help pupils develop the knowledge, skills, self-belief, and motivation to be successful in their learning and their lives.
"Stapeley Broad Lane has been a fantastic addition to our local trust and I look forward to seeing the school continue to flourish."
