Nantwich man, 30, charged after stealing from supermarket charity box

A Nantwich man has been charged with three counts of theft from a Nantwich supermarket after stealing almost £500 worth of goods, including from a food bank charity box.
At 9.43am on Wednesday 24 September, Cheshire Police arrested the 30-year-male at his address in Nantwich.
The male was found to have stolen from the charity box, along with two other separate incidents at Sainsbury's, Middlewich Road, totalling £457.
He was later interviewed in police custody and charged with the three offences.

Nantwich Police said: "A local male has been charged after theft of Nantwich food bank charity box from Sainsbury's Nantwich.
"The incident occurred on the 26 August and as a result of the investigation the same suspect was found to be responsible for two further offences of shoplifting at the store.
"Thanks to the efforts of Sainsbury's staff, their high quality CCTV system and a break through in the use of facial recognition, officers were able to identify the 30-year-old suspect.
"At 9:43am on Wednesday 24 September, the male was arrested at his home address and later interviewed before being charged with three offences of theft totalling an estimated £457."
