Nantwich has wrapped up its inaugural Independent Venue Week, marking a significant moment for the town's live music scene.

Running from 28 January to 2 February, the event brought a diverse range of musical talent to two key local venues: Studio Nantwich, Castle Street, and The Granary Arts Café, off Welsh Row.

Organised by local music promoters Applestump Records and Moth Events, the six-night celebration showcased an impressive lineup featuring nationally recognised artists alongside rising stars from the region.

Among the headline acts was Fyfe Dangerfield, best known as the frontman of The Guillemots, whose 2006 album was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize.

The acclaimed singer-songwriter performed an intimate solo set, captivating the Nantwich audience.

Also topping the bill was OneDa, the AIM Independent Music Awards 2024 winner and a standout talent in Manchester's hip-hop scene.

Having performed at Glastonbury and headlined Manchester Pride in 2023, OneDa brought her dynamic energy to Nantwich, marking another highlight of the week's festivities.

Other headliners included She Drew The Gun and The Lounge Society, adding to the impressive roster of talent that graced the town's stages.

Audiences enjoyed performances from a diverse array of artists, including Foxglove, Unit 17, Dorothy Bird, Van Goghs Weapon, Ouch!, Sativa, Zaim, Johntay, Oskar, Nicky Phillips, Crowspeak, Allie Douglas, and Oli Ng.

Nantwich's Independent Venue Week was organised by local music promoters, Applestump Records, and Moth Events (Jonathan White).

Each act brought their own distinctive style, ensuring that every night of the festival offered something special for music lovers.

Beyond the music, the event served a greater purpose by raising funds for Mid Cheshire Mind, supporting mental health initiatives in the local area.

Founder and owner of Applestump Records, Steve Cook, said: "Independent Venue Week has been an incredible opportunity to shine a light on the live music scene in Nantwich.

"We have been able to bring together exceptional talent, showcase local venues as well as local talent, and create a real sense of community spirit.

"The response has been phenomenal, and we're already looking forward to what we can achieve next year."
