Nantwich Food Festival organisers are drumming up excitement, with less than a month to go until the town's biggest food event returns.

The three-day festival takes place from Friday 4 September 4 to Sunday 6 September, with two food courts and a town-centre market-style exhibitor area.

Around 200 exhibitors from across the region and beyond are expected.

There will also be live music, family entertainment and chef demonstrations, with entry and most entertainment free.

Only the Cookalong sessions and Food History Walking Tours carry a charge.

Organisers say the festival's value is made possible by its sponsors, with Nantwich Town Council returning as headline sponsor.

Local businesses AFH, Hall Smith Whittingham, Reaseheath College, Whitegates, Snugburys and Boughey are also supporting the event.

Festival Chairwoman, Christine Farrall, said: "We simply could not run Nantwich Food Festival without the financial help of our sponsors; their support makes all the difference."

Utowpia is sponsoring the Bowling Green music stage for the second year.

Christine also paid tribute to long-standing sponsor Mornflake, saying: "A special mention must be given to Mornflake, who last year celebrated an amazing 350 years in business.

"They are the longest Nantwich Food Festival sponsor, right back to the earlier Festival days; their lovely staff and products can be found – as usual in the Mornflake Pavilion."

Live music will again be spread across the Snugburys stage at Love Lane and the Utowpia stage at Bowling Green, both managed by Silk Radio 1069.

Saturday's line-up includes Oktober Hollow, Rachel Cowden, Infrared, Oscar Phillips, Marc Gallagher, Blah de blah and Unit 17.

Over at Utowpia, acts include Flow State, Gemma Rose, Kelley Tigerheart, Minstrels of Mischief, Baxter and ACRYLiC.

Sunday brings more live music, including Lucy Bevan performing an exclusive jazz set, alongside XL5, Gemma Rose, Oktober Hollow, Dave Chesworth, Humbug, Erika Ignata and Good Habits.

There will also be family entertainment around the town square, including choirs, solo artists and four bands.

The Circus Academy returns across Saturday and Sunday, while the Domesday Morris Dancers will make their Nantwich debut on Sunday.

For the full programme and event details, visit the festival website. Food History Walking Tour and Cookalong places can also be booked online, while visitors can vote for their favourite bars and eateries in the Nantwich Food Awards.
