Nantwich Bookshop & Coffee Lounge on High Street will be raising a glass to Germany's most famous festival when it hosts a special 'Oktoberfest Supper Club' on Wednesday 22 October.

The evening will be a true celebration of Bavarian flavours, with a mouth-watering menu inspired by the world's biggest beer festival.

Guests can look forward to a Kartoffelpuffer starter, traditional potato pancakes served with apple sauce and cured salmon, followed by a main course of Eisbein with garlic and rosemary sautéed potatoes, beer gravy and a fresh side salad.

To round off the evening, there is the classic German dessert, Apfelstrudel, served with vanilla ice cream.

Oktoberfest itself is the world's largest folk festival, held annually in Munich, attracting millions of visitors from across the globe.

While Nantwich may be a little smaller than Bavaria's capital, this event promises to capture plenty of its spirit. Tickets are £40 with doors opening at 6.30pm for a 6.45pm start.

Co-owner of Nantwich Bookshop, Denise Lawson, said: "We are so excited to bring a slice of Oktoberfest to Nantwich.

"It is all about good food, good company and a real sense of celebration, so dust off your lederhosen, come hungry, and join us for a fun evening with a Bavarian twist."
