Motorbike blaze spreads to field in Nantwich arson attack

A motorbike blaze spread to a nearby field, following a suspected arson attack in Nantwich over the weekend.

On Saturday 8 August, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to an incident on Manor Road North.

At 4.15pm, one fire engine from Nantwich arrived at the scene, discovering flames on a field.

The motorbike fire had already been put out, with Nantwich firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the field blaze.

Due to the deliberate nature of the blaze, Cheshire Police were informed of the incident.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to a motorbike on fire.

"When they arrived the owner had already put it out using a dry powder extinguisher, but the fire had spread to a surrounding area of field.

"This was put out by firefighters using a hose reel water jet.

"Police were informed as it is believed the motorbike was set alight deliberately.

"Anyone with information should call Cheshire Police on 101."
