Mayor views progress of growing Nantwich housing development
By Ryan Parker 16th Feb 2026
Mayor of Nantwich, Mary Slinn, was invited by David Wilson Homes to visit its Maylands Park development, where the councillor was given a guided tour of the show homes whilst discussing the latest construction progress.
Set to deliver 188 properties, including 56 affordable homes, Maylands Park is located on Peter De Stapleigh Way.
The housebuilder's Planning Director, Andrew Taylor, and Senior Sales Manager, Gemma Roberts, were on hand to guide the Nantwich Mayor around the new community.
Cllr Mary Slinn said: "My impressions of this new development were extremely positive. The landscaping has been well thought out, with lots of mature trees and young saplings lining the roadways and plenty of green space.
"It is apparent this development has been designed with quality and sustainability in mind, with solar panels and electric vehicle charging points, and affordable housing blends seamlessly throughout the development.

"I was also lucky to be given a guided tour of the show home, a five bedroom detached property, which shows the potential buyer what their home could be like."
As part of its planning agreement with Cheshire East Council, David Wilson Homes is contributing £662,253 to support local infrastructure improvements in and around Nantwich.
Included in the housebuilder's investment in the town is a contribution of over £441,000 towards secondary education and £91,000 for special educational needs and disability (SEND) education.
A total of £90,000 is being injected to enhance bus services, whilst £40,000 has been pledged towards pedestrian crossing improvements.
Planning Director at David Wilson Homes North West, Mr Taylor, said: "It was a pleasure to welcome the Mayor of Nantwich to our Maylands Park development to showcase the progress we've made onsite.
"We enjoyed the opportunity to provide an insight into our plans and the fantastic community that is taking shape in Nantwich."
During its time in Nantwich, David Wilson Homes has supported local homeless charity, LATH Group, as well as the befriending services at Nantwich Buddies.
More recently, a £1,500 contribution was given to The Nantwich Parish Church Preservation Appeal Trust to support its efforts to repair and restore St Mary's Church.
The housebuilder has also backed Nantwich Museum, sponsored Cuddington and Sandiway JFC and donated a collection of books to Pear Tree Primary School.
Maylands Park is delivering a collection of three, four and five bedroom homes with prices currently starting from £308,000.
