By Ryan Parker 27th Jan 2026
A major British clothing chain is set to open a new store at a former bank branch in Nantwich, with planning submitted to Cheshire East Council.
White Stuff, which operates in over 150 UK locations, will open at the old NatWest, High Street, empty since June 2025.
The UK fashion and lifestyle brand sells women's, men's and children's clothing, along with accessories, homeware and gifts.
This January, White Stuff submitted full planning for a new glazed shopfront, along with demolition in a conservation area.
White Stuff wants to reconfigure the ground floor layout, meaning it would demolish some internal walls. The first floor of there building would remain unaffected.
As part of the plans, White Stuff proposes four changing rooms, including a DDA-compliant fitting room towards the rear of the shop.

It plans for new double doors entered on the existing pillar and internal wall, with a new stockroom and staff WC also proposed.
White Stuff has also submitted advertisement consent for one projecting sign and one fascia sign, both internally illuminated.
A heritage statement says: "The unit is currently empty and vulnerable to vandalism and misuse.
"The design aims to restore the use of the building and complement the existing architecture.
"New materials will like for like, brickwork and aluminium framed shopfront.
"The reason for the application is that White Stuff wishes to occupy and run a successful shop in Nantwich as part of the community."
