Growing Nantwich record store to relocate to new 'prominent' central location

A growing independent Nantwich record shop is set to relocate to a bigger town centre location this September, allowing a dedicated space for album signings, in-store gigs and more.
Applestump Records, 12 Barker Street, will be moving to 4 Oatmarket (former Kitty's Clothing Alterations), on or before Friday 12 September.
Founded during lockdown by Steve Cook and his wife Danielle, Applestump Records has grown from a tiny online store into a thriving music hub.
Applestump Records said: "We are very excited to announce that after four amazing years in our current hideaway, we have bitten the bullet and found a new home on the high street.
"Our new address will be 4 Oatmarket, Nantwich.

"The new larger, more prominent location will allow us to not only stock even more records, but also to have a dedicated space for album signings, listening parties and more of our intimate in-store performances.
"We are currently busy gutting the place and making it our own.
"We will be closing the Barker Street doors this Saturday (after The Low Drift gig) and reopening on or before Friday 12 September, depending on how fast we can work.
"A huge thank you to the Riley family for giving us our first record shop proper and helping us realise the dream. On to the next phase, see you up Oatmarket."
Applestump Records will be hosting pop sensation, Sophie Ellis-Bexter, at the new venue on Monday 15 September from 1pm to 2pm.
