Crewe and Nantwich Labour Party candidate for the 2024 General Election, Connor Naismith, says he will fight to restore our high streets and support local businesses if elected.

The Crewe West councillor, who lives in the local community, believes voters need someone who lives in their area, can be trusted and is on their side.

Mr Naismith told Nub News: "Crewe and Nantwich is my home. It's where I live with my wife, a local primary school teacher, where my daughter was born and where we both decided to raise our family.

Connor Naismith is currently a councillor for Crewe West and lives in the Crewe and Nantwich area (Nub News).

"I am invested in this community because it's my community. That's why I am so proud to be your Labour candidate at the upcoming election.

"After 14 years of Conservative government, nothing seems to work anymore.

"Our public services are pushed to breaking point, despite families paying more and getting less.

"Incomes have not kept pace with inflation, meaning that for the first time in history people will be worse off at the end of this parliament than at the beginning.

"Levelling Up under this government has been a farce, from the cancellation of HS2 to the fact that our high streets are dying in front of our eyes.

"We need change. I want my daughter to grow up in a Crewe and Nantwich she can be proud of."

Connor, who has been a Crewe councillor for three years, is an experienced political campaigner.

Party leader of the Labour Party, Keir Starmer (Wiki Commons).

The Crewe and Nantwich parliamentary candidate wants to see positive changes to the NHS, public transport and the number of police officers on our streets.

Mr Naismith said: "I will fight to restore our high streets and support local businesses, with business rates reform and giving communities power over empty shop units.

"I will get our NHS back on its feet, fighting to fund more GPs, hospital staff and dentists so that you can get the treatment you need, when you need it.

"I will push for more police on our streets, tackling crime and antisocial behaviour so that you can feel safe in our community and in your home.

"I know our public transport across Crewe and Nantwich is broken.

"I will push for reforms that make public ownership of buses in our area possible, delivering more frequent, affordable and reliable services run in the interests of passengers.

"I believe that every child deserves a fantastic education, regardless of their background.

Ben Fletcher is the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Crewe and Nantwich (Crewe and Nantwich Conservatives).

"That's why I will support Labour's plan to break down barriers to opportunity for all children, not just those born into privilege.

"Whether you are a lifelong Labour voter or considering us for the first time, I will represent you all, be an MP you can trust and work tirelessly to drive improvement for our area."
