Founding member of huge UK rock band to perform in Nantwich this autumn

The founding member and former guitarist of a famous UK rock band, is set to perform in Nantwich for the first time this autumn.

Bernard Butler, formerly of Suede, will be taking to the stage at Nantwich Town FC on Tuesday 15 October.

Presented by Words & Music Festival, tickets for the award-winning musician go on sale at 10am on Friday 17 May.

Bernard Butler will be performing a number of Suede hits at his Nantwich gig, along with songs from his new solo album (Words & Music Festival).

Butler, who has voted the 24th greatest guitarist of the last 30 years in a 2010 BBC poll, is releasing his new solo album 'Good Grief' on Friday 31 May.

The 54-year-old, most famous for his work with Suede, helped the indie rock band achieve two top three albums and several top forty hits, until leaving in 1994.

Butler will be performing a number of Suede hits at his Nantwich gig, along with songs from his new solo album.

A Words and Music Festival statement read: "Big announcement. Bernard Butler is coming to Words & Music at Nantwich Town FC, Waterlode, on Tuesday 15 October.

"Guitarist and founder member of Suede, hit collaborator with David McAlmont, producer of artistes ranging from Duffy to the Libertines, and winner of Grammy and Brit awards, Bernard Butler is an omnipresent force in UK music.

"He releases a new solo album in 2024 and we're thrilled to welcome him for his Nantwich debut.

"Tickets go on sale Friday 17 May at 10am.

"The event in October will run from 7:30pm to 10:30pm, with tickets priced at £25."
