The lead guitarist of a famous UK indie rock band is set to perform at a 14th-century venue in Nantwich, taking place this summer.
Ben Ottewell, 47, also the singer-songwriter and singer of much-loved band Gomez, is live at St Mary's Church on Saturday 20 July.
Born in Chesterfield, Ben, rose to fame with the Southport band in the 1990s.
Covering the genres of blues, indie, alternative, rock, folk, psychedelic and experimental, Gomez, have had six UK top 40 hits.
The band's 1999 album 'Liquid Skin' reached number two in the charts, with that and debut LP, 'Bring It On' being awarded Platinum in the UK.
Single 'Rhythm & Blues Alibi,' (1999), remains Gomez's most successful record to date, after reaching the heights of 18 in the official charts.
Ottewell, well known for his distinctive vocals, was the recipient of the Mercury Music Award Prize in 1998.
In 2011, he embarked upon a solo-project, with the debut album 'Shapes & Shadows.'
Since then, Ottewell has released two further albums with 'Rattlebag' in 2014 and 'A Man Apart' in 2017.
Ottewell was once hailed by Rolling Stone as "Gomez's not-so-secret weapon," with GQ Magazine describing his voice as "not of this world."
The father-of-three has recently delighted crowds with a string of successful acoustic tours across the UK, US, and Australia.
In Nantwich, Ottewell will be performing beloved Gomez classics alongside selections from his acclaimed trio of solo albums.
Doors at St Mary's will open at 7pm, with support to be confirmed. View the event HERE.
