Fire crews tackled a serious blaze on a barge in Nantwich, causing significant damage to the vessel.
On Tuesday 23 April, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to an incident in Wardle on the Shropshire Union Canal.
At 9:47pm, two fire engines from Crewe and one from Nantwich arrived at the scene, finding the barge "well alight."
Firefighters put out the blaze using two hose reel jets.
Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident, which is not believed to be suspicious.
Smoke alarms were fitted in the barge, with its owner supported by Cheshire East Council.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to a fire involving a barge which was well alight and used two hose reels to extinguish it.
"A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hot spots.
"Smoke alarms were fitted in the barge and the occupier was supported by Cheshire East Council."
