'Fantastic' Nantwich football match to honour baby born sleeping
By Ryan Parker/Jonathan White 8th May 2026
The local community is coming together again for a heartfelt cause as the fourth annual Theodore William Gill Cup charity football match returns to Nantwich, in support of families affected by baby loss.
The special event will take place on Saturday 16 May at Nantwich Town Football Club's Swansway Stadium, Waterlode.
Gates open at 12pm ahead of a 1pm kick-off, with supporters invited to make a small donation on entry.
Refreshments will also be available throughout the afternoon, with the bar open from 1pm onwards.
The annual match is held in memory of Theodore William Gill, who was born sleeping on 26 April 2023.
Every penny raised from the day will go directly to the Meadow Suite, a dedicated suite and outdoor space at Leighton Hospital for parents experiencing the devastating loss of a baby.

Opened in September 2023, the Meadow Suite provides grieving families with a calm, comfortable and non-clinical environment where they can spend precious time together away from the main labour ward.
Event organisers, Charlotte Wilson and Gregory Gill, said: "The support from the community has been incredible and means so much to our family.
"This event is not only a way to remember Theodore, but also to help other families receive the comfort, care and support that the Meadow Suite provides during the hardest moments imaginable.
"We'd love to see as many people there as possible for a fantastic day of football, fundraising and community spirit."
For those unable to attend, donations can also be made online, with all funds going directly to maintain and enhance the Meadow Suite.
