Cyclists ride route 'shaped like giant pair of underpants' in final 2026 ride
By Jonathan White 29th Sep 2026
Farmer's Pants brought its 2026 cycling season to a fantastic finish on Friday 25 September, with 19 riders taking part in the final ride before heading to the Farmers Arms in Ravensmoor for an evening of cycling chat, food and friendship.
The popular free social rides took place on most Friday evenings throughout the spring and summer, giving cyclists the chance to enjoy an 11-mile countryside challenge while making sure they were back before dark.
Founded in 2025 by local community sports enthusiast Paul McIntyre, Farmer's Pants was created to encourage fun, fitness and community spirit through free and accessible cycling.
The rides have continued to grow in popularity, welcoming cyclists of different ages and abilities from across the local area.
Starting from Marsh Lane in Ravensmoor, near Nantwich, the distinctive route follows a loop which, appropriately, is shaped like a giant pair of underpants, giving the ride its memorable name.

The friendly weekly cycle has become a regular fixture for local riders, with participants encouraged to wear helmets, ensure their bikes were roadworthy, follow the Highway Code and look out for fellow cyclists and other road users.
Several riders also proudly wore the new bespoke Farmer's Pants cycling tops on the final ride of 2026.
Paul, who leads the rides, is well known locally for bringing people together through community sport. He is also the founder of Nantwich Triathlon Club and organises the popular monthly Dabbers Dash at Barony Park.
The Farmer's Pants experience doesn't end when the bikes return to Ravensmoor, with riders finishing at the Farmers Arms for a drink, food and a chance to catch up with fellow cyclists.
The final ride saw 19 cyclists take to the road, including a tandem, before riders and additional guests gathered at the pub for an informative bike-fitting talk from Dan Gooding of The Bike Fitters.
Paul said: "It was a fantastic way to bring the 2026 Farmer's Pants season to a close, with 19 riders taking part and a brilliant atmosphere both out on the road and afterwards at the Farmers Arms.
"It was great to see so many people come along for the bike-fit talk and then stay on to enjoy the evening together.
"A huge thank you to the Farmers Arms for being such fantastic hosts throughout the season and for putting on a special meal deal for our final night.
"Most importantly, thank you to everyone who rode with us, led groups, took photographs, offered support or simply made new riders feel welcome.
"Farmer's Pants is about much more than cycling, it is about bringing people together, enjoying the outdoors and looking out for one another.
"Thank you to everyone who helped make 2026 such a memorable season. We'll be back on the road before you know it."
