Costa Coffee has been given advertisement consent for a new Nantwich branch, with the chain set to relocate within the town centre.

On Monday 22 July, Costa was given consent for one fascia sign, one A-frame board, and five external barriers at 38 High Street.

Currently located Church Lane, the coffee chain will be moving to the former M&Co unit in the near future.

The new Costa Coffee will have outdoor seating with parasols, catering up to 20 customers.

Costa Coffee's planning application for an internal fit-out with associated signage in the vacant unit was approved on 8 July.

A Cheshire East case officer said: "The proposed works are acceptable in principle and would accord with the relevant policies of the development plan.

"The application for planning permission is recommended for approval, subject to conditions."

While stripping out the grade II listed High Street building, workers uncovered an old copper ceiling. This has been left untouched.

This July, Costa Coffee applied to replace the building's existing air-conditioning condenser units. This planning application is yet to be approved.

Nantwich Nub News has contacted Costa Coffee for comment on its target opening date.
