Cheshire East named as worst council in UK for potholes

Cheshire East is the worst council for open pothole reports across the UK, says Tempcover.
New analysis by the short-team insurance provider has revealed almost 80 councils have potholes first reported as far back as 2007 still marked as unresolved.
Among the worst places for the oldest-reported potholes are Glasgow, Leeds, Edinburgh, Manchester, Cardiff, Liverpool, and Birmingham.
The analysis, based on data from FixMyStreet.com, indicates 69 councils each have over 1,000 potholes left unrepaired.

Cheshire East Council has appeared at the top of this list with a staggering 17,191 open reports.
The oldest reported pothole was reported on Monday 9 March 2020.
As the pothole crisis continues to plague roads in the UK, there are some steps you can take to reduce the risk of damage to your vehicle.
Drivers should remain vigilant and report any potholes to the council.
It is important to maintain a safe distance from the car in front and check tyre pressure regularly.
